1大会，如hold a convention开大会（congress也表大会的意思）
2惯例，常规（社会接受的习惯行为），例：It%26rsquo;s a convention that businessman should wear suit.商人穿西服是一种惯例。
habit个人的习惯，例：He has the bad habit of biting his nails.他有咬指甲的坏习惯。
custom习俗，如social customs社会习俗；（复数）海关，如go through the customs通关
avenue名词，大街（南北向），street大街（东西向）
revenue=re（back）+ ven（come）+ e老百姓赚的钱会一部分以税收的形式返还给国家，财政收入
event=e（out）+ vent（come）突然间到来的大事，事件，如the most important events in 19851985年最重大的事件
其他表事件的单词有：
affair公众关心，社会正在发生的事情，如current affairs时事
accident事故，意外事件，如a car accident汽车事故，by accident偶然的，accidental 偶然的，如accidental success偶然的成功
incident小事情，附带的事情，如an ordinary incident普通的小事情，incidental附带的，如incidental music配乐
issue争论的事情，issue的读音很像是一休，一休不是个庸俗的人，不会想小叶子，他想的是issue。
Intervene=inter（相互）+ ven + e动词（第三方）干涉，例：The America government intervened to stabilize the situation.美国干涉来使局势稳定。stabilize使稳定，它的形容词是stable（table是桌子，s死桌子一定是稳定的）
convenient方便的，如convenient store便利店，convenience名词方便，例：Please contact us at your convenience.请在方便的时候跟我们联系。
